Railway Signalling Functional Test Engineers (4 Positions)

Brief Description of Role:
The main purpose of this role is to manage and be responsible for carrying out functional testing of trackside equipment for relay & CBI based interlocking. Provide technical support, mentoring and advice as required in support of the business. Ensure that all work is delivered in accordance with technical, safety and quality standards. p>

The qualifications, knowledge and experience requirements are as below. p>
Qualifications:
- Professional engineering / diploma engineering qualifications (preferably in Electrical) and suitable training courses
- Suitable IRSE Licence
Knowledge and experience:
- Test Engineers with knowledge and significant experience of ability to carry out the functional testing of trackside equipment for relay & CBI based interlocking.
- Liaise and assist other test teams as required
- Assist the Senior Test Engineers and Tester in Charge (TIC) in review and evaluation of the testing resource requirements for applicable testing and documentation tasks
- Upward briefing of project testing status to Tester in charge
- Ensure adherence to the applicable rail standards, procedures, processes covering all engineering, safety, administrative and project requirements
- Co-operated with quality, safety, and environmental objectives and contribute where appropriate, to applicable standards and demonstrate continual improvement
- Undertake the testing and commissioning of signalling equipment to meet contract specifications, performance and safety parameters
- Plan team’s work on a daily basis, monitor, manage and report progress to the TIC as required
- Raise and close out Test Logs in an efficient manner and ensure Work Packages are well managed
- Train, Mentor and Promote the staff as opportunities arise
- Act as signalling works Mentor for staff as required, including actively promoting their technical progression as railway signalling engineers
- Encourage and promote the advancement of staff for self development
- Assist with performance appraisals, attend training courses, maintain IRSE logbook to high standard
- Progress individual knowledge and skills to promote advancement

Remuneration:
GBP 35,000 to GBP 55,000 PA (Gross) but will not be a limiting factor for experienced and competent applicant.
